Shill bidding is strictly prohibited.
Shill bidding includes, but is not limited to:
- Bidding on your own listing using another account.
- Asking a friend or family member to bid on your item.
- Asking an employee, business partner or associate to increase the price.
- Creating multiple accounts to manipulate an auction.
- Using another person's account to increase bids.
- Coordinating with another bidder to artificially increase the price.
- Bidding without a genuine intention to purchase.
- Using bids to artificially increase an item's popularity, ranking or perceived demand.
AuctionList.ca may examine account relationships, bidding patterns and other available information when investigating suspected shill bidding.
Confirmed violations may result in cancellation of bids, removal of listings, loss of bidding privileges, suspension or permanent account termination.
